It is Monday 23rd November and I am about to embark on a plant hunting trip to Zimbabwe. I am flying out with Leo vander Hoeven my friend from Holland and we are departing from Heathrow to Johannesburg where we will be meeting Rikus van Veldhuisen and Jaap Keizer who are flying into Joburg from Holland. We are starting in South Africa in order to meet with Rolf Becker and his wife Alma who will be taking us to a nice plant location and then on to their house for dinner. We meet up with Rolf, pick up our hire car and arrange to meet Rolf at a location just outside of Johannesburg city. Needless to say we got lost and spent some time trying to get back on track, looking like lost tourists in the centre of Johannesburg was to say the least the last thing we wanted.. However we eventually got on the right track and met Rolf at a location near where we were able to find nice plants of Euphorbia davyii.
