Its Wednesday 10th of February and myself and Leo Vanderhoeven are of to Madagascar again. We follow the usual route from Heathrow to Paris and from there direct to Antananarivo arriving late night on the same day.
We are picked up by and taken to our hotel just a short way from the Airport, just in time for a quick Three Horse Beer and then to bed after a tiring day. The real adventure starts tomorrow when we have to organise first our car and driver for the duration of the trip.
Thursday 11th February
Up reasonably early for breakfast and then its time to sort out the vehicle for the trip. The driver from the car hire place turns up and we begin the negotiation.
We soon come to an arrangement about costs and the next thing is to take a short ride down to Alfred Razafindratsira’s house to have a look around and get some more information about places to visit.
After that its of to the supermarket to stock up on some supplies for the next days and then make plans to meet up first thing next morning to start heading South. The ret of the day is relaxing.
